IBD & Pain: Integrating Multidisciplinary Approaches for Better Patient Outcomes
Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, and all healthcare professionals engaged in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Educational Objectives

- Review current and emerging research on pain mechanisms specific to IBD to provide a foundational understanding that informs clinical practices.
- Discuss the integration of various treatment modalities such as pharmacological treatments, psychological interventions, physical therapy, and nutritional support.
- Provide an overview of advanced therapeutic strategies, including the use of biologic therapies and newer pharmacologic agents, focusing on their efficacy and safety profiles in managing pain in IBD patients.
- Examine the impact of effective pain management strategies on patient outcomes, including quality of life, disease progression, and healthcare utilization.
