The Fellow Foundations Lecture Series is designed to provide gastroenterology fellows with foundational content on IBD diagnosis and up-to-date clinical practice guidelines from top IBD faculty at IBD centers across the U.S.

    • Overview

Dr. Lisa Malter of NYU presents this lecture for GI fellows to better understand IBD diagnosis and learn to differentiate infectious mimickers of IBD and non-infectious mimickers of IBD. You will also learn to compare perianal disease presentations of Crohn’s Disease. There is currently no gold standard test for diagnosing IBD. Symptoms and lab abnormalities in IBD are often non-specific. It is important to understand all the other disease entities that must be considered when a patient is presenting with acute and/or chronic abdominal pain.
