Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss cultural and cognitive biases that may contribute to health disparities in IBD care for different IBD patient populations including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Asian;
  2. Identify differences in disease perception and self-management within IBD patient populations; and
  3. Describe shared decision-making models or methods that may work to facilitate open communication between the patient and the clinician.
